Introduction
In John Steinbeck’s novel, East of Eden, one of the major themes is choice.and we were required to explore its use through its use of rhetoric. Throughout this website, it is hoped that the idea of choice is seen through the eyes of John Steinbeck. The idea of choice is commonly taken for granted. Everyday chocies are made that can change your life greatly. I am the real Adam Trask, and in my life I have made some questionable choices that defined my life. Take a look at all the choices that made me who I am.
The Journey:
My Favorite Poem:This poem by one of my favorite poets truly reflects the choices I've made in my lifetime. Along with the struggles and hardships I now reside where I've always believed my home has been: Salinas Valley.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down as one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim Because it was grassy and wanted wear, Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay in leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: : Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference |
